The Bala Cranberry Festival began as a means to extend tourism for one more week following Thanksgiving weekend which traditionally saw most cottagers and summer businesses closing up for the winter season.
The organizing group of the Festival is a non-profit corporation that is dependent on community pride and cooperation. Each year, the festival donates funds to local charities, community organizations, scholarships, and special events taking place throughout the year.
An important detail to remember is that the entire Cranberry Festival is run by Bala's enthusiastic volunteers.

*Dogs are welcome at the Festival, but will not be allowed into inside venues*
